inhabiting grief

well this isn’t a typical blog post for me as i didn’t write anything… instead i’m sharing some of what someone else said. i really loved it and thought you might too.

"grief is not always asking to be healed. sometimes it is asking to be inhabited.

there are seasons when the soul is asked not to ascend, but to enter the soil of grief... and be remade there.

there are seasons when life does not ask us to rise above our experience, nor to become wiser, stronger, or more spiritually accomplished.

it asks something far more demanding. it asks us to descend. to allow the identities we have carefully constructed, the futures we imagined, and the stories by which we have known ourselves… to soften beneath the weight of a life that refuses to remain under our management."
